Hello. I’m John Wilbur, a general dentist in Austin with a unique wholistic approach to dentistry. In my solo practice, you receive my full attention in a personal, unhurried, and relaxing environment. I take the time to talk with you about whatever dental, general health, fitness, aesthetic, or other concerns or interests you may wish to discuss.

As a wholistic professional, I am interested in your total lifestyle, since it affects your overall health. The body functions as a unit, and the health of every part, including your teeth and gums, reflects your general health. Patients say they find my knowledge and experience in nutrition, fitness, and total health to be both practical and motivating. In addition to my personal studies and experiences in health, nutrition, vegetarian and raw-food diets, and fitness, I have completed extensive graduate work in nutrition at the University of Texas at Austin. Also, I have a certificate in Professional Ethics from Texas State University in San Marcos.

In dental care, I give my patients all the information they need to fully participate in the decision-making process. Patients appreciate my gentle touch and the fact that I clean their teeth myself using an ultrasonic cleaner with purified water. Many patients also enjoy listening to one of their favorite genres of music through stereo headphones or through our speaker system.

I utilize the highest quality and most up-to-date dental techniques and materials available in all aspects of dental care, including natural-looking, non-toxic bonded fillings and porcelain restorations. Cosmetic and preventative dentistry are special interests, and I emphasize the use of simple preventative methods for restoring and maintaining dental function and aesthetics. For example, in some cases TMJ, decay, and other dental problems can be prevented or corrected by simple bite adjustments and in many cases teeth can be straightened without braces. Additional aesthetic options are available for patients who wish to enjoy a more youthful appearance – and have even more to smile about.

My office is located in the peaceful Woods II office complex at 8500 N. Mopac Suite 602 in Austin, where I am easily accessible from all areas in and around Austin. Please feel free to call my receptionist, Corally, at 512-345-5845 for more information or to schedule a visit. I look forward to meeting you and assisting in achieving your dental, aesthetic, and health goals.
